Join us in the Library on Thursday, May 16 (12–1 pm) to hear artist Bailey Carrick (MDiv ’19) discuss the inspiration of her works and the process that brought them to life. Bailey’s work has been on exhibition in the Allison Library as part of Art in the Stacks.

Bailey's linocut alphabet series serves as a mesmerizing homage to the power of language, echoing the divine essence encapsulated in each letter. Through meticulous carving and printing, she invites us to ponder the significance of the Word made flesh, drawing inspiration from T.S. Eliot's timeless verses.

In her oil paintings, Bailey channels the wisdom of Wendell Berry, guiding us through a visual narrative that celebrates the innate connection between humanity and the natural world. Explore the profound symbolism of hands and bodies intertwined with the rhythms of rest and work, as she beckons us to rediscover true wisdom in the simplicity of God's creation.
